Coulee Region Humane Society’s COVID-19 Policy Changes
As of March 1st, 2022 CRHS is for visiting, by appointment only. We will be using the following guidelines and processes to streamline adoption meet and greets and maintain the safety of our staff and animals.
If you are interested in meeting with an animal, please read the following so you are prepared for the upcoming changes to our adoption process and understand the requirements that must be met.
General Approvals and Adoption Counseling Are Required Prior to Meeting an Animal
Potential adopters must fill out an application, complete adoption counseling over the phone and be approved to adopt the specific animal(s) they are interested in to be considered eligible to schedule a meet and greet with that animal.
· Meet and Greets are not required.
· Meet and Greets are by appointment only.
· You may choose one animal that you are interested in meeting with, this animal will be held for you and will be the only animal you will be eligible to do a meet and greet with. If you decide that animal is not the right fit, you will need to resubmit your application and schedule a meet and greet for different animals at a later date. If you are interested in adopting two pets at the same time, the same rules apply but the hold will be placed on both animals instead of just one.
· If you choose to schedule an appointment for a meet and greet, keep in mind that both the meet and the adoption must be completed within three days of receiving an approved application. Please plan your schedule accordingly.
Please show up on time. If you are late for your appointment we reserve the rights to limit the amount of time you are able to meet with our animals or we may ask that you reschedule for a different date.
**Masks not currently required, this is subject to change.
Who Can Come in For The Meet?
· You, the potential adopter.
· Any family residing with you (i.e. significant other, children, etc.). Space is limited and family members may not wander from their designated meet and greet area. If we do not have enough space for the amount of people you have brought with you, some members will be asked to wait outside of our facility.
· If an adopter requires a caretaker to make legally binding decisions, the caretaker will be required to accompany them during the meet and greet.
Who Cannot Come in For The Meet?
· Roommates.
· Family that do not live with you, the adopter.
· Friends.
Note
Not all animals will be eligible for meet and greets. This includes cats and small animals that are in foster care or are too timid/shy in new situations to show their true personalities.
This is to protect their mental health and well-being while at our facility and to provide the best match possible for our animals and potential adopters.
All surrender and redemption appointments will continue to be provided curbside. Surrendering parties and individuals redeeming their lost pets will not be allowed in to our facility.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to call the Coulee Region Humane Society at 608-781-4014.
