  • We are the designated stray-holding facility in La Crosse County; Animal Control works on site at our facility.

  • Our organization is a Managed Admissions shelter for La Crosse County residents. This means that we take in all stray animals from young to old, healthy to sick, friendly to aggressive, small to large, etc., allowing every animal a safe refuge regardless of its circumstance. However, we manage our intake by scheduling owner surrenders by appointment to make sure there is room in our facility for the new animal.

  • We accept surrendered pets when they no longer can be kept regardless of their circumstance. This service is free for La Crosse County residents.

  • Our shelter offers licensing services through the Coulee Region Animal Control Protection & Rescue department.

  • Our Spay Neuter Assistance Program, otherwise known as SNAP, offers financial assistance to income-eligible pet owners in La Crosse County to spay or neuter their pet.

  • Our Humane Education programs teach humane care, safety around animals and species-specific information to local schools, Girls and Boys Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, etc.

Working Cat Program

Our Working Cat Program helps place cats not suited for traditional adoption into environments where they can thrive with a unique job and live out the rest of their lives.
