Hi, i’m toby!
ABOUT :
Type Of Animal: Dog
Breed: Beagle
Age: 5 1/2
Gender: Male
Up To Date On Vaccinations: Yes
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Is your dog house trained: Yes
Energy level/ daily exercise needs: Low (minimum15-30 minutes) – leash walk or time spent in yard.
Experience with and how well do they interact with children: He runs around at my dad's farm or my brother's house with a training collar, does really good. My job now. His exercise is going out to go to the bathroom. Does really good with kids, hasn't been around new born kids.
Experience with and how well do they interact with cats: He gets along very well with other dogs and cats. He will cuddle up on the couch with cats after a day or two.
Experience and how well do they interact with dogs: Has been kenneled at Marcie's in Sparta and West Salem, never had any issues with any of the other dogs regardless of size.
Things need to work on: He does still need work on jumping up on people. Had a gal that took him for a few weeks, she had 4 cats and a pit bull, cats roamed the house all day, pit bull was locked in his kennel, Toby was locked in the bathroom, he chewed through the door after 2 weeks. I personally think if he was around the cats, she wouldn't have had a problem. So yes I do believe he has separation anxiety. I have never had him in a crate. I leave him in the bathroom all day and he hasn't had a problem.
Favorite activities: He loves being outside with his training collar and being allowed to be a hound dog. Always looking for rabbits and squirrels.
Favorite treats and/or toys: Loves squeaky toys, stuffed ones don't last long. I give him Rachel Rays chewy treats or Milos kitchen treats.
Unique personality traits: Loves his back and belly rubs. He sleeps in the bed under the covers. He curls up and sleeps between my legs when sitting in the recliner.
Ideal home: Somewhere rural so he can explore. He is afraid of gun fire, fireworks, loud bangs. Rural would be best. Other dogs and cats would be a plus. Never had him on a tie out cord, I don't believe in those.
